15 Oct

15 Oct to 15 Oct

The East Midlands Engineering and Science Professionals (EMESP) provides a voice on the common issues for the engineering and science profession in the East Midlands. It works to make people much more aware and appreciative of the vital contribution that engineering and science make to the economy, prosperity and quality of life of our region. The Lead Sponsor for this years’ event is The Institution of Structural Engineers.

Until recently John was an Executive Director of Jacobs, and was President of the Institution of Structural Engineers in 1999/2000. He is particularly well known for a long association with the design of major rides and attractions including the world’s largest rollercoaster (at Blackpool Pleasure Beach), Europe’s tallest timber ride (Tusenfryd in Oslo, Norway), the iconic London Eye and most recently the British Airways i360 at Brighton.

Doors open at 19:00 for registrations. The Lecture will commence at 19.50.
